I really don’t think these cars are as bad everyone says they are. My wife’s coworker has one and he drives it about 100 miles a day with no complaints.

I’d guess that this would be a pretty decent long commute car; inexpensive to run and insure, and it’s not so nice or expensive that you have to worry about putting a lot of miles on it. Maybe not the most comfy, but it’ll get’ you there.

They’re a reliable new car for not much money, for a lot of people, that’s enough.

You know we live in a new golden age of cheap cars when a car is considered crappy because it has a cheap interior and tinny doors, not because it breaks down constantly. To somebody from the ‘80s dealing with a Yugo or a Chevette, the Mirage would have been a revelation.
